Heckler & Koch is teaming up with Vortex to equip several popular HK handguns with Vortex optics in 2026. Buyers can choose from a lineup of HK VP9s paired with red dot sights from Vortex’s Defender series, and these range-ready packages are already professionally mounted and bore-sighted.

"We're excited to match the Vortex Defender line with the VP," said Nathan Schueth, HK’s director of sales and business development. "HK and Vortex share the same values – the best performance and features for the customer, backed by lifetime warranties. For any defender, the VP + Vortex combination will exceed their needs for reliability, durability, and usability.”

Optics-equipped versions of full-sized VP pistols – like the VP9 A1 F, VP9 A1 X and VP9 A1 K – are paired with the Defender CCW enclosed emitter model. The micro-compact HK CC9 is fitted with the Defender CCW open emitter model, while larger models, including the VP9 L and VP9 Match, feature the Defender ST closed emitter model.

All these Defender optics are waterproof, shockproof, and have motion activation/auto shutoff features. Plus, the closed emitter models feature solar and battery power with a multi-reticle function.

Be sure to stay tuned for more on HK when we catch up with the company at SHOT Show 2026.
