Springfield Armory Debuts 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911
Springfield Armory rolled out its brand-new 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911 pistol in .45 ACP and 9mm today for the start of SHOT Show 2026.
Developed with the help of 10-8 Performance founder and retired FBI Special Agent Hilton Yam, the new 1911 platform is refined with the lessons of decades of professional experience. The pistols are made with hand-selected, forged carbon-steel frames and slides.
They host forged, stainless-steel 5-inch bull barrels. Springfield had each gun fitted with select 10-8 Performance parts. These include a reverse recoil spring plug, extended magazine catch, flat trigger, specialized slide stop, and 10-8 grips in G-10 by VZ Grips.
“The new 10-8 Performance Master Class is a culmination of all the aspects of my time working with the 1911 – from competitive shooting, to my law enforcement career, to building and designing parts for them,” said Hilton Yam. “This pistol represents everything I would want in a production 1911.”
Each gun uses the Agency Optic System, which offers a series of plates to fit a wide variety of popular optics. That includes RMR, Shield, DeltaPoint Pro, and Docter footprints.
The rear sight is integral to the AOS plates. This means each plate can have the proper optic height for co-witnessing nearly all optic configurations. (Image: Springfield Armory)
“Springfield Armory 1911 pistols have long been renowned for their durability and performance,” said Steve Kramer, vice president of marketing for Springfield Armory. “We’re thrilled to be working with Hilton Yam and 10-8 Performance to bring our two companies’ vision for this new Master Class pistol to reality – and the results speak for themselves.”
The handguns ship with a cover plate featuring an integrated rear sight. They’ll arrive with a coupon to purchase the buyer’s mounting plate of choice for $49.99. MSRP for both the .45 ACP and 9mm pistols is set at $2,099.
