Of all the breaking news in latest products and trending innovation during SHOT Show, it might just be a small booth at Caesar’s Forum set to break the internet. Texas company Bond Arms brought suppressed derringers, a Space Cowboy lever action, 250th USA Anniversary big bores, and more. You can argue that nobody “needs” these guns, but you’ll sure want to check them out.

Suppressed Derringers

Bond Arms’ partnership with Third Echelon Development on a pair of integrally suppressed derringers is poised to go viral. That’s two bores firing through one can with no action noise and no ejecting brass.

Crazy as they may look, these babies are small. The derringer’s overall length is nearly equal to the footprint of the suppressor. There were two different configurations on display: a 9mm variant with a rounded can and a .45 with a squared build. We haven’t yet had the opportunity to fire one of these bad boys, so we’ll have to take the company rep’s word that they are “insanely quiet.”

Optics-Ready Boot Guns?

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, Bond had a single-shot .45-70 Cyclops handgun outfitted with a micro dot in a move to offer an optics-compatible barrel. Though we’re not sure which, or how many barrel/models will ever release with optics readiness, the idea is solid.

The optics-ready Cyclops in .45-70 is an interesting idea...
...and the Pic rail could come in handy.

A second Cyclops was shown with an under-barrel Picatinny rail that serves as a short but practical mounting point for lights, lasers, and other accessories. The sample gun was wearing an Olight BALDR laser-light combo.

Space Cowboy

Each year, Bond’s much-anticipated line of LVRB lever actions gets closer to reality. It sounds like the first pieces will begin shipping within the next few months, barring any setbacks. The standard levers are one thing, but while we wait, Bond Arms has been having fun with a creative Space Cowboy edition.

Look for Bond Arms to bring the lever-action Space Cowboy to market, although we don't have a timeline yet.

Not only was the company able to get trademark rights to the Space Cowboy name, but it is one of the more unique looks you’ll ever see on a lever gun. Gordon Bond told us fans kept referring to the new LVRB platform in general as a “space cowboy,” a nontraditional lever action with its AR-inspired features.

Thus, the idea for a real Space Cowboy was born. Laser engraving adorns the short-throw lever, with designs from a tipped cowboy hat to planets, stars, and a bold “Think Twice” logo on the magwell. Even the AR-style magazine is matched to the Space Cowboy theme. While this could easily be a prototype, it sounds like Space Cowboys will actually be available for sale.

Celebrating America’s 250th

Many firearm and ammunition manufacturers are showing off pieces celebrating our country’s 250th, and Bond Arms is all in with a trio of specially designed derringers: a Rough series, a blacked-out Blackjack derringer, and the .45-70 Cyclops called "'Merica.”

Bond Arms is marking the USA's 250th birthday with several "America 250th" designs.

Whether you love ’em, hate ’em, or fall somewhere in between on the new offerings, one thing is certain. The folks at Bond Arms never stop innovating, and they’re having fun while they’re at it. Of course, Bond’s more traditional lines of derringers continue with business as usual, and there really is something for every shooter.
