Thanks to its low bore axis, the Archon Type B is one of the flattest shooting handguns on the market. Now, Archon is improving on that concept by adding ported and compensated versions to the popular handgun lineup.

The Archon Type B has a unique design, as its bore axis sits in line with the shooter’s grip. This distinctive feature has made it a flat and soft-shooting handgun, but that is not to say that the experience can’t be improved.

Many shooters prefer the port over the compensator, as the cuts are in line with the barrel and the slide and don’t add extra length or parts.

The first update to the Type B line is the Archon Type B Ported. This iteration of the Type B features porting cuts in the barrel and the slide, offering compensation that is integrated into the design. Many folks prefer the port over the comp, as it includes both the barrel and slide.

Compensated Type B

The first chamber in the large compensator directs gas upward to counter muzzle flip. The second chamber bleeds the gas from the left into the right, pushing the gases against each other and canceling out their energy.

The Archon Type B is also being offered with an external compensator that sits at the end of the barrel. This two-chamber compensator allows gas to dissipate quickly at the muzzle, past the rifling. This keeps the muzzle down, creating a much flatter shooting experience.

Compact Compensated Type B

The single-chambered comp compared to the longer version.
The single-chamber compensator bleeds most of its gas upward, countering muzzle flip. Cuts on the side bleed off any excess gas, canceling out the energy that normally flips the muzzle.

Archon has another option with a more compact compensator for the Type B. The single-chamber brake makes it easier to fit the gun inside of holsters and draw from concealed carry. The single chamber redirects that gas upward, countering muzzle flip.

COA Cut

Archon is cutting its slides for the Aimpoint COA optic now that Glock's exclusive contract with Aimpoint has expired.

Archon is now cutting its slides for the Aimpoint COA optic. This direct cut comes after the expiration of the exclusive contract that Aimpoint had with Glock. Now that Aimpoint is free to work with any company, and due to the popular nature of the COA, this will be a common cut for more handgun companies.
