At SHOT Show 2026, LWRC had updates to two of its popular platforms: the IC MKII and the IC‑9. If you’re not familiar with LWRC, the company is known for ultra-reliable piston guns.

IC MKII

The standout for me was the IC MKII .300 Blackout, which now runs an M‑LOK handguard over LWRC’s piston system. The gun keeps LWRC’s fully ambidextrous lower, with mag release, bolt catch, and charging handle on both sides. The 10.5-inch heavy-barrel version would be my pick, but it’s also available in 12.7, 14.7 and 16.1 inches. Other calibers for the IC MKII are 6.8 SPC and .350 Legend.

The real draw of the IC MKII is its two‑position adjustable gas block. Anyone who shoots .300 Blackout suppressed knows how annoying it can be switching between subs and supers. With this setup, you don’t have to pick one – you can change settings on the fly, swap magazines, and keep shooting. LWRC had the rifle set up with its .30‑caliber titanium suppressor wrapped in a burn‑proof cover.

IC‑9

LWRC also upgraded the handguard on the IC‑9, which is a 9mm PCC. The IC-9 features a scaled-down lower that accepts Glock mags while retaining ambidextrous controls as on the IC MKII.

The action is different, though. The IC-9 uses a chamber‑ring delayed blowback system, which helps slow the action and smooth recoil. The result is a gun that shoots flat and stays easy to control, especially during fast strings.

The IC-9 also got an upgraded handguard.

The IC‑9 was also shown with LWRC’s titanium 9mm suppressor, again wrapped in a burn-proof cover. LWRC reps mentioned that a version of this platform recently landed a New York State Police contract for over 1,000 guns, which says a lot about confidence in the design.

Overall, LWRC’s SHOT Show 2026 lineup felt like refinement rather than reinvention. If you like piston guns that are built to run hard – suppressed or not – both the IC MKII and IC‑9 are worth a look.
