Smith & Wesson Unveils New Night Guard, Comped Guns, Spec Series & More at SHOT Show
One of the oldest standing firearms manufacturers in the U.S. is still bringing cutting-edge designs to market. Smith & Wesson had lots to show us at SHOT Show 2026.
M&P Metal HD
The M&P series is one of Smith & Wesson’s oldest lines, with models that date back well over 100 years. This year, S&W expanded the modern M&P line with the Metal HD, a stainless-steel framed handgun with a 5-inch barrel. It’s significantly heavier than other M&Ps at 34.5 ounces, which helps reduce felt recoil and muzzle flip.
The Metal HD features a flat-faced trigger, a black Armornite finish, a blacked-out rear sight with tritium yellow front sight, an optic cut, and that aggressive M&P 2.0 stippling on the frame, with machined texturing on the metal. One notable feature is that while the Metal HD frame is stainless steel, it maintains the polymer palmswell that can be changed to fit your hand.
The M&P Metal HD Competitor is the competition version of the Metal HD series. This handgun features a spiral fluted barrel underneath a slide with lightening cuts. This version also has a beveled magazine well for faster reloads.
M&P10 Carry Comp
As compensated shooting grows more popular, S&W has expanded the M&P line to include several Carry Comp models. The newest member of the family is the M&P10 Carry Comp.

It's an attractive 10mm carry gun.
Smith & Wesson’s PowerPort compensator aligns a large cut in both the barrel and slide in front of the front sight. This port helps direct gas upward to reduce muzzle flip.
The 10mm cartridge is extremely powerful, and its popular with those who like to do things like backpacking out in the woods. The M&P10 Carry Comp provides confidence and control of the 10mm.
Spec Series R 686 Plus No Lock
Long known for its revolvers, S&W is determined to keep innovating into its popular wheel gun lines, keeping the platform relevant for today’s shooters.
The Spec Series R 686 Plus No Lock is a .357-chambered revolver with a stainless-steel frame and titanium Cerakote finish. This revolver holds seven rounds in a black PVD-coated cylinder and features port cuts on the barrel. There’s also a black extended cylinder release.
This is a beautiful wheelgun meant for speed and precision.
That comp is sure to help tame the muzzle rise.
Even the cylinder release was designed with speed in mind, and the Aimpoint ACRO P-2 keeps you on target.
The top of the revolver features a rear site plate that houses an Aimpoint ACRO P-2 optic, and the wood grips sport laser-engraved texturing. The whole package comes in a Savior Equipment bag, with a knife, challenge coin, and patch.
Spec Series VI M&P9 2.0 Metal Compact
The Spec Series VI M&P9 2.0 Metal Compact is the newest iteration of the numbered Spec Series. This M&P9 combines the weight of the metal frame with port cuts in the slide and barrel for an incredibly flat shooting experience.
This custom Spec Series M&P9 is sure to be a hit with S&W fans.
This handgun includes the Aimpoint ACRO P-2 optic mounted to the slide, while the frame features a Floyd’s Custom Shop EDC magwell and magazine bases. The Spec Series VI M&P9 is done in a custom champagne Cerakote color and includes a Savior bag, knife, coin, and patch to commemorate the Spec Series VI.
Night Guard
Smith & Wesson has built hundreds of different revolver models over the years. The Night Guard series, produced from 2008 to 2012, was designed as a compact, lightweight carry revolver.
This line is being re-released in the 386 in .357 Mag with a seven-shot cylinder, and the 396 in .44 special with a five-shot cylinder. These revolvers feature a scandium frame, no lock, and Hogue Bantam rubber grips. Both feature a deep black finish and a blacked-out rear notch with a high-visibility green front sight.
Gemtech Nebula 5.7

The Gemtech Nebula 5.7 is the company’s first 3D-printed suppressor. This dedicated 5.7 suppressor is perfect for Smith & Wesson’s extensive line of 5.7 firearms.
