Just in time for the NRA Annual Meetings in Texas this week, Springfield has a new Garrison 1911 model in both .45 ACP and 9mm outfitted with fully adjustable rear sights.
Springfield, a 1911 maker for generations, debuted its Garrison series in 2021. The line features forged frames, slides, and barrels along with modern upgrades over legacy 1911s, including low-profile/high-visibility sights, an extended thumb safety, and thinline grips. Other standard features included a match-grade stainless-steel barrel, a skeletonized hammer, and an extended beavertail grip safety with a memory bump.
Now, for 2026, the Garrison will be offered in a new Target model, which keeps all the features that made the series a hit with fans of John Browning's famed single stack while delivering a more competition-ready pistol.

It retains all the other standard Garrison features, including a straight mainspring housing, extended beavertail, a stainless-steel match-grade barrel with a fully supported chamber, and thinline wood grips.
The guns ship in a double-zipper case with one magazine. On the .45 ACP model, it is a seven-round mag, while the 9mm runs nine rounds.
The MSRP on the new Springfield Armory 1911 Garrison Target is $999, compared to the current $878 ask on the standard Garrison model.
"The 1911 Garrison Target pistols in .45 and 9mm offer shooters a classically styled 1911 with modern features designed to wring out maximum accuracy potential," said Steve Kramer, VP of Marketing for Springfield Armory. "With its forged steel construction and high-quality adjustable rear sight, this a pistol that will provide a lifetime of downrange performance."
