Smith & Wesson Shows Overhauled Bodyguard Revolver at NRAAM
Smith & Wesson has revamped its pocket carry .38 Special Bodyguard revolver for 2026, and we got a closer look at the Bodyguard 2.0 during the NRA Annual Meeting last week. The reworked design focuses on improved ergonomics, light construction, and enhanced performance.
The Bodyguard 2.0 sports a thick boot-style grip with rubberized texturing, providing a solid and secure hold. The grip incorporates polymer and aluminum components to reduce weight, making the revolver just over 14 ounces. It has a 1.875-inch stainless-steel barrel and a five-shot cylinder chambered for .38 Special +P rounds.

Sights are a deep rear notch and a bright orange Patridge-style front post.
Functional improvements include an ambidextrous cylinder release and an easier-to-operate ejector. The sight system has been upgraded with a bright orange Patridge-style front sight post paired with a deep rear sight notch, allowing for quick and accurate target acquisition.
With the Bodyguard 2.0, Smith & Wesson has created a compact, robust revolver that balances tradition with innovation. This is a reliable, easy-to-handle option for personal defense and everyday carry.
