July has been a month of 2A patriotism as well as a reminder of the continued threats to Second Amendment rights. Several of the first gold medals won for the USA in the 2021 Olympics came from some of America’s top shots, highlighting yet again the American tradition of shooting prowess and pride in gun ownership. This came on the heels of the world’s largest and safest sports shooting event at the Minnesota Trap Shooting Championship in Alexandria. At the same time, anti-gun politicians continue to threaten and attack gun rights at the state and national levels. 

So Guns.com wanted to share with our readers the top-selling pistols, rifles, and shotguns from our site to highlight how Americans continue to embrace and defend their rights. Many of these popular firearms represent a new gun owner's first steps into the firearms community. Others are classics common even among longtime shooters. Here they are – July’s top sellers.
 

Top 5 Selling Pistols

The trend toward popular self-defense and concealed carry polymer-framed pistols continues to rule the handgun scene. While 9mm pistols ruled the roost, we’re still seeing some other popular calibers continue to fly off the shelves. Notably, the Glock 23 Gen 5 just narrowly missed the list, showing there’s still plenty of love for the .40 S&W out there.

Top 5 Selling Rifles

From fancy folding guns and takedown survival .22 rifles to the always popular AR-style firearms, interest in more than classic bolt-action hunting rifles is clearly a trend with gun owners. If we had to call a winner here, it would have to be the AR platform, with the Diamondback DB15 and other ARs also hovering near the top of the July rifle list. There’s a reason they call it "America’s rifle."

Top 5 Selling Shotguns

Tactical shotguns, including some newer designs, owned the list of most popular shotguns in July. They have a great reputation for home defense, and gun buyers are clearly on the hunt for an edge in firepower. While the proven and battle-tested Benelli M4 semi-auto shotgun was just narrowly edged out, we were most surprised to see what appears to be growing interest in some unique bullpup and multi-tube shotgun designs like the Kel-Tec KSG and Landor Arms BPX 902.
