Your lower receiver is an important part of your AR build. It’s the base that the other components connect to. While you can purchase complete lowers, many prefer to start their build using a stripped lower. Doing so gives you the flexibility to customize your components exactly how you want to, and in some cases, it will save you some money.

If you do decide to start with a stripped lower receiver, you want it to be the best quality that you can afford. Quality components lead to a quality, high-performing, reliable rifle. And after all, that’s what you’re hoping to build, right? While AR components are readily available across the country either in your local gun shop or from an online dealer (like us), they are not all the same.

The saying, “You get what you pay for,” certainly rings true when it comes to rifle components and lower receivers. The good news is you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg on your lower receiver to start a high-quality build.

There are some top-quality manufacturers producing excellent lowers at affordable prices. In alphabetical order, here are five manufacturers of lowers that you can’t go wrong buying, and you can get them right on our website!
