The Colt AR-15 9mm Carbine – “Restricted Military/Government/Law Enforcement/Export Use Only” is a semi-automatic AR-platform carbine chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum (9mm Luger). These rifles were produced by Colt during the period surrounding the 1994–2004 Federal Assault Weapons Ban and were marked with the now-famous restricted rollmark. The marking itself does not make the firearm a machine gun or military-only weapon today; it was primarily a legal designation used at the time.
