The DPMS LR-308 is a semi-automatic, .308 Winchester rifle introduced in the early 2000s by DPMS Panther Arms. It became an industry benchmark, won multiple industry awards, and established a widely duplicated aftermarket receiver standard for large-frame AR rifles.
Origins and Rise1985: DPMS Panther Arms is founded by Randy Luth in Minnesota, initially building specialized M16 and AR-15 parts
.Early 2000s: DPMS develops the Long Range 308 (LR-308) to bring a reliable, accurate, and cost-effective .308 Winchester semi-automatic rifle to the civilian and law enforcement market.
2005–2006: The rifle achieves massive acclaim, winning the National Rifle Association's American Rifleman and Shooting Illustrated "Golden Bullseye - Rifle of the Year" awards in consecutive years.
This firearm comes with a Sight Mark Rapid AR5-20X40 scope.
