The Remington Model 11 is one of the most historically significant semi-automatic shotguns ever produced, serving as the first autoloading shotgun manufactured in the United States. Introduced in 1905 and based on the legendary John M. Browning Auto-5 design, the Model 11 utilizes a long recoil-operated action that earned a reputation for exceptional reliability and durability. Chambered in 12 gauge, this configuration features a 28-inch barrel with a 3-round tubular magazine, making it well-suited for upland game, waterfowl, and clay target shooting. Throughout its production until 1947, the Model 11 was offered in numerous grades and barrel configurations, becoming a favorite among American sportsmen while also seeing military service during World War II for guard duty and aerial gunnery training. With its distinctive humpback receiver, classic walnut furniture, and proven Browning design, the Remington Model 11 remains highly collectible and continues to be appreciated by hunters, shooters, and firearms historians alike.
