Crosman Announces Airsoft Agreement With U.S. Marine Corps

The same way an NFL team is excited to sell the jersey of a newly signed superstar, the Crosman Corporation is hoping a new licensing agreement with the USMC will help provide a boost to sales and overall customer interest.

As a part of the agreement, the Crosman Corporation – makers of a number of shooting products including airguns, airsoft equipment, archery equipment and accessories – will retain the rights to design, produce, distribute and market a line of U.S. Marine Corps airsoft guns and accessories.

In statements, both parties expressed their belief that the partnership will be mutually beneficial and advantageous. Among the excited parties was Crosman Vice President of Marketing, Roy Stefanko, who stated, “Saying that we’re excited about this agreement is an understatement. It is truly an honor to be chosen by the U.S. Marine Corps in facilitating a project of this magnitude. By introducing a complete line of airsoft products branded “Marines Airsoft,” we recognize a strategic business opportunity that will benefit a revered organization, as well as contribute to our continued growth in the airsoft category.”

Jessica O’Haver, director of USMC Trademark and Licensing, noted that the Marines Corps is proud to work with Crosman. Said O’Haver, “One of our biggest challenges is to find partners who are able to meet our licensing requirements while possessing the ability to market a product we are proud to put our name on…We welcome the arrangement with Crosman and believe it provides a great opportunity to complement our licensing efforts.”

The licensing agreement is likely to benefit the Marine Corps in that it will broaden its public image and increase public awareness of the Marine Corps “brand,” with the overall goal being to boost recruiting. Observing the advantages of the agreement, O’Haver noted, “The strategic marketing support Crosman undertakes helps fulfill these goals, and works to enhance the public’s interest in learning more about the Marine Corps,” commented O’Haver.”

Stefanko and Crosman are also excited to get to work on the new line of Marine Corps products. Said Stefanko, “The breadth of our network will help us achieve significant market penetration and brand awareness…We look forward to working with the U.S. Marine Corps and realizing the full potential of this unique partnership.”
