The striker-fired SD9 and SD40 come equipped with a white-dot front sight and white two-dot rear sights in addition to an accessory rail for lights, laser or any additional accessories shooters feel like adding. Both the FDE and gray model boast a 4-inch barrel with overall length of 7.2 inches and are finished with a durable Armornite finish, providing increased corrosion resistance.

“The Self Defense pistol series is designed for personal and home protection in a lightweight, reliable package and at a price point that offers a great value,” Jan Mladek, general manager of Smith & Wesson and M&P brands, said in a press release. “We are excited to expand the popular Smith & Wesson SD pistol series in new color options that appeal to our consumers.”

The SD9 is available with a 16+1 round magazine capacity while the SD40 is available with a 14+1 capacity.

Both the SD9 and SD40 carry a price tag of $389.
