Polymer wonder Magpul continued to grow its arsenal of firearm accessories and, perhaps much more excitingly, its own line of firearms with some enjoyable reveals at SHOT Show 2022 in Las Vegas. From updated bipods and souped-up MP5s to ultra-compact folding guns, here’s what’s new at Magpul for 2022.

Expanding their lightweight bipod line, Magpul’s next-gen, polymer MOE Bipod weighs in at just 8 ounces – cutting off almost 40 percent of the weight from some previous Magpul options – and is compatible with wide or narrow forends or M1913/M-Lok adapters. The legs quickly flip down and extend from 7 to 10 inches.
FDP-9 & FDC-9 Folding Gun Updates

Back in 2008, Magpul announced they were working on a folding gun that has long intrigued fans of collapsible firearms. Magpul and ZEV have been refining two flavors of their modern designs that were on display in Las Vegas – the FDC-9 and FDP-9, or Folding Defensive Carbine and Folding Defensive Pistol respectively. While work on the guns isn’t new news, developments have added some recent wins for prospective future owners.
While the FDC-9 will fall into the realm of a short-barreled rifle – Yes, with all the ATF input that entails – the FDP-9 has a chartered course heading toward becoming a Title 1 firearm that can be purchased as a self-enclosing, large-format pistol like any other handgun. Aside from continued improvements to the system itself, such as elevation and windage-adjustable sights, it’s hard not to be excited about that news. But cool your jets before you go trying to find one just yet, you can expect several months before that is an option.
Magpul AR Enhanced Ejection Port Cover

While it lacks the sex appeal of a new gun, AR operators will appreciate the cost and simplicity of the new Magpul Enhanced Ejection Port Cover. Designed as a drop-in upgrade that is both durable and skips the need for extensive workbench time, the new polymer cover is both corrosion resistant and is marketed as more rugged than the standard metal alternatives.
Updates to the MP5 Line

New guns are great, but the classics still deserve some love. Magpul has rounded out some additions to their MP5 accessory line. They already offered handguards and some extra-fun-sizedmagazines for the MP5. For 2022, they’ve added a new collapsible, two-position stock for the guns. Complete with QD mounts, it’s always nice to see some modern tech meeting classic designs.
