Debuted at the 151st NRA Annual Meetings in Houston, Texas, late last month, the new FN 509 Midsize Tactical picks up an extended threaded barrel, an optics-ready slide with suppressor-height night sights that co-witness with MRDs, and a 24-round magazine. The company debuted the standard Glock 19-comparable Midsize in 2019 and it has proved a hit with the carry market ever since, expanding to models with a red dot cut and options for FDE.
With that, the evolution to include a Tactical variant in the catalog only seems logical.
The Midsize Tactical frame includes both a 15-round standard flush-fit magazine and an extended 24-round magazine (shown), the latter standard with FN 509 Tactical models. Note the 4.5-inch threaded barrel which is cold hammer-forged and suppressor-ready with a 1/2x28TPI pitch, all housed within a 4-inch slide. Weight is 30 ounces. (Photo: Chris Eger/Guns.com)

The new FN 509 Midsize Tactical ships with an FN logo soft pistol case, two mags, and two interchangeable backstraps for an MSRP of $1,069.
