Massachusetts-based Savage has a new lightweight over-under in the company's well-received line of Stevens shotguns: the 555 Sporting.

Designed specifically for the sporting clays and trap shooting community with a price point (just) under $1,000, the 555 Sporting has a lightweight aluminum-alloy receiver with a steel insert that reinforces the breech, to trim ounces while still giving strength. Only offered in a 12-gauge with twin 30-inch chrome-lined ported barrels, it features a raised ventilated rib with mid-bead and front fiber-optic sight and an adjustable cheek riser. The 555 Sporting includes five extended chokes (F, IM, M, IC, C), has a single selective mechanical trigger, a 3-inch chamber, and Turkish walnut furniture.
