Springfield Armory is trying something new when it comes to the ever-growing micro 9 market: making them suppressor ready.

The company earlier this month debuted a $199 threaded barrel kit for the standard 3-inch barreled Hellcatincluding both a 3.8-inch hammer-forged barrel and a self-indexing compensator as well as a thread protector. Drop-in with no gunsmithing needed, it includes standard 1/2x28 pattern muzzle threads.

Conspicuously absent from the announcement on the Hellcat TBK was an offering for the slightly longer Hellcat Pro. Now, in the adage of good things and waiting, it seems that Springfield has decided to release it as an all-up pistol instead.

Whereas the standard Hellcat Pro runs a 3.7-inch barrel, the threaded format sees that grow to an extended 4.4 inches but still carries a 1:10 twist and a Melonite finish just like its stubbier brothers. Weight is 22 ounces, unloaded, which is only an ounce more than standard Pros. (Photo: Springfield Armory)

The new threaded barrel version of the Hellcat Pro still has all the same features as the original, including an accessory rail, a factory optics cut on the slide, and 15+1 round flush-fit magazines. They still run a Tritium day/night sight that includes a luminescent front with green dot and a Tactical Rack U-Notch rear, which will probably work with a slim can. (Photo: Springfield Armory)

The MSRP is $667.
