Be they autoloading, pump action, or over/unders, Mossberg has a little something for every shotgun fan heading into 2024. 

In the past week, the American scattergun giant has debuted new optic-ready models of the 940 JM semi-auto series 12 gauges, Reserve series O/Us in multiple grades and bores, and both 500 and 835 series pump guns.

New 940 JM Pro Optic-Ready Models

Designed in conjunction with world-renowned champion professional competition and exhibition shooter, Jerry Miculek (hence the "JM Pro" designation) Mossberg debuted the updated 940 competition-ready line of semi-auto 12 gauges back in 2020. Now, to meet the increasing demand for those looking to directly mount a micro red dot optic without an adapter plate, Mossberg has three new 940 JM Pro optic-ready models whose receivers have a factory Shield RMSc footprint MRD cut under a cover plate. 

Besides that, these new 940 JMs have the same features that make them ideal 3-Gun shotties: an oversized, beveled loading port with elevator and shell catch specifically designed for quad-loading, ergonomic forend and user-configurable stock for length of pull (13 to 14.25 inches), drop, and cast; and an oversized charging handle and paddle-style bolt release. Oh yes, they also come standard with HIVIZ TriComp front fiber-optic sights and Briley extended choke tubes (Improved Cylinder, Cylinder, and Modified). 
 

New Gold Reserve Sporting O/U Models

Mossberg has a new imported Gold Reserve Sporting over-and-under double-barrel break-action shotgun, a 20 gauge with a 30-inch barrel and 3-inch chamber. It joins a recently announced 12 gauge and .410 bore in the same family. All have Grade A black walnut furniture featuring cut-checkering, a scroll engraved polished silver receiver with gold inlays, and polished blue vent-ribbed barrels topped with a front bead sight. Using chrome-lined chambers and barrels, they all ship with an extended and checkered Sport Set of five choke tubes (Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full). 
 

New Silver Reserve Synthetic O/U Models

Those looking for a plain vanilla over-and-under shotgun for use in the field can rejoice with the new Mossberg Silver Reserve Eventide O/U line. Offered in 12- and 20-gauge variants, both come standard with a black synthetic stock with cut-checkering on the grip and forend, a 14-inch length of pull, and twin 26 (20 ga) or 28-inch (12 ga) vent rib barrels topped with a front fiber-optic sight. They include a Field Set of five flush choke tubes (Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full), giving the user options for bird hunting, clay shooting, and harvesting game. Overall length ranges from 43 inches (20 gauge) to 45 (12 gauge) with weight in the 7-pound range. 

All Silver Reserve shotguns feature chrome-lined bores and chambers and dual-locking lugs with a tang-mounted safety and barrel selector.
 

New Silver Reserve Turkey O/U Models

Mossberg is importing three new Silver Reserve Eventide Turkey over-and-under shotguns for 2024, including 12-gauge (3.5-inch) as well as 20-gauge and 28-gauge models with 3-inch chambers. All have compact 20-inch barrels, synthetic stocks and forends, and are dressed in full camo coverage with Mossy Oak's Greenleaf pattern. The bores and chambers are chrome-lined for hard use, while the barrels carry a front fiber-optic sight. They are light – all 7 pounds and under – with a 14-inch length of pull and an overall length of about 37 inches. 
 

New Silver Reserve Waterfowl O/U

Another imported Silver Reserve Eventide added to Mossberg's 2024 lineup is a Waterfowl model in 12 gauge with 3.5-inch chambers. An over-and-under meant for hard use in the marsh, it carries a weather-resistant Patriot Brown Cerakote finished receiver and barrels, chrome-lined barrels and chambers, and a camouflaged synthetic stock and forend in Mossy Oak's Vintage Shadow Grass. The 28-inch vent rib barrels are topped with a front fiber-optic sight and come with a Field Set of five chokes (Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full).

New Silver Reserve HS12 O/U

While we don't have any images of this double barrel yet, we do know that we are very curious about the Silver Reserve Eventide HS12, as the abbreviation stands for "Home Security 12 Gauge." With the same basic features as the rest of the Eventide line – synthetic stocks and foreends, shell extractors, chrome-lined barrels, and bores, and dual-locking lugs – the HS12 sports an elevated front fiber-optic sight on its twin 18.5-inch cylinder bore barrels. Weight is 6.25 pounds, while overall length is a very coach gun-ish 35.5 inches. For those looking to add lights, optics, and accessories, it has Picatinny rails on the receiver and under-barrel.

New 500 Turkey Optic-Ready Holosun Combos

Mossberg is growing its line of optic-ready Greenleaf pattern camouflaged 500 series Turkey pump-action shotguns to include a trio of convenient combo packages, each topped with an olive green Holosun HS407K micro dot sight. The additions include two 20-gauge models: one a Super Bantam with a length of pull on the stock that stretches from 12 to 15 inches via included spacers, and each with a 20-inch vent rib AccuChoke-compatible barrel that comes with an Extended X-Full choke tube. For fans of harvesting toms via .410, they have one of those as well. 
 

835 Ulti Mag Turkey OR Holosun Combo

Like the new 500 Turkey models, Mossberg also has a 12-gauge 835 Turkey Holosun combo that runs a 20-inch VR barrel with a 3.5-inch chamber. It ships with an extended Ulti-Full choke tube.
