Heckler & Koch has updated its crowd-pleasing VP9 pistol series for 2025 with the new A1 standard, which brings a host of improved ergonomics, a better trigger, and more magazine options.
The new features include a fully customizable grip that works through a set of interchangeable backstraps and side panels, improved ambidextrous surface controls, an enhanced trigger with a nickel-Teflon-coated trigger bar that HK says provides a smoother pull and cleaner break, a factory flared magwell, and additional front and rear maritime serrations.
Four different capacity magazines will be available, including 10-round state-compliant mags, 17 and 15-round flush-fit mags for the F and K models respectively, and 20-round extended mags.

Between six grip panels and four backstraps that allow 54 configurations, the user has the ability to semi-customize the ergonomics of the pistol.
The VP9A1 F uses a 4.53-inch barrel that gives it a 7.76-inch overall length. It stands 5.47 inches high with its 17-round flush-fit magazine and is 1.3 inches wide. The unloaded weight is 23.28 ounces.
The VP9A1 K has a 4.09-inch barrel for an overall length of 7.32 inches. The width is 1.3 inches and the height is 5.12 inches. Weight, unloaded, is 22.57 ounces.
All the VP9A1s are optics-ready through a series of nine different adapter plates covering popular footprints that accommodate most red dots.
Price? Well, as HK plans to offer these in both optics-ready and optics-equipped, with the latter carrying Holosun SCS sights, there are nine different models on the table for 2025 with MSRPs spanning $979 to $1,319.
HK has been slow on the draw in officially announcing these guns, no doubt waiting for the big reveal at SHOT Show in a week, but they have already filtered out test guns to several Guntubers.
