I love Century Arms because the company makes iconic guns at affordable prices. New for 2025 are updates to the AP5 line and a Draco Tactical pistol, and we got to check out both at SHOT Show.

AP5 Additions

The AP5 guns are all roller-delayed blowback actions made famous by the HK MP5, a design used and touted all over the world. Manufactured by MKE in Turkey using HK tooling, the Century guns have a reputation of being outstanding budget options for this design.

Century is adding to the family the AP53 chambered in 5.56, the AP51 chambered in 7.62, and the AP5-SD chambered in 9mm.

Talking muzzle devices, the AP53 comes with a four-prong flash hider attached to its 8-inch barrel. The AP51 has a birdcage flash hider threaded onto its 8-inch barrel, and the AP5-SD comes with a faux suppressor mounted to its 6-inch barrel. The threads on the AP5-SD are 1/2x28 so you can attach your own suppressor if you like. It even comes with a three-lug adapter.

The AP5-SD comes with a faux suppressor on its 6-inch barrel, but you can swap it for a real suppressor easily.

All three new options come with a cold hammer-forged barrel, Navy grip, Picatinny rail claw mount, ambidextrous safeties, and are in a pistol format. Of course, the entire AP5 line can do the “HK slap.”

We’re told these will be available in the next few months, with MSRPs as follows:

  • AP53: $1,799
  • AP51: $1,799
  • AP5-SD: $1,699
  • AP5-SD with brace: $1,799

Draco Tactical

The Draco Tactical pistol is chambered in 7.62x39mm and features a 7.5-inch barrel, with a linear compensator. It’s basically a little AK pistol. If you’re familiar with the Draco line, you may know the guns by their distinctive wood furniture, but the Tactical takes a different turn with its blacked-out look

The Draco Tactical sports a Strike Industries bi-folding pistol brace and a free-floated M-LOK handguard.

It ships with a Strike Industries bi-folding pistol brace and US Palm free-floated M-LOK handguard. It also has a rear sight integrated into the top Picatinny rail, an enhanced safety and bolt hold-open, and a RAK-1 trigger.

The MSRP is $1,049 without the brace and $1,199 with the brace. I may have to get in line for this one.
