Christensen Arms Celebrates 30 Years with New Chambering and Colors
The outdoor industry’s 2025 SHOT Show in Las Vegas held both celebration and new product buzz for Christensen Arms. The company rang in its 30th anniversary with little fanfare but plenty of products to catch the eye of hunters. Here’s what we found at the Christensen booth.
Anniversary Year
Based in Gunnison, Utah, Christensen Arms has been in operation since 1995, when Roland Christensen put his engineering background to work and “used patented aerospace technology to create the world’s first carbon-fiber rifle barrel.”

Three decades later, Christensen has undergone some changes, but in 2025, space-age materials remain at the heart of its designs. The company was showing its full contingent of lightweights, chassis-style, and other cutting-edge builds, including everything from heavy Magnums to precision rimfire rifles.
7mm Backcountry
Some of the biggest news out of SHOT Show was Federal’s debut of the 7mm Backcountry chambering, a higher-pressure round loaded in a unique Peak Alloy steel alloy casing. New chamberings need guns to fire them, and we were not surprised to see Christensen Arms lined up as one of the major players involved with the 7mm BC debut.
Christensen will be offering its Ridgeline FFT rifle line in 7mm BC...
The company is chambering two of its premium lines of rifles for the young round. Hunters, especially those attracted to shorter barrels and suppressed hunting, can snag either a Ridgeline FFT or Evoke rifle in 7mm BC, representing two very different price points.
Built for backcountry hunters, the Ridgeline FFT is a lightweight gem. There’s a carbon-fiber barrel and stock, as well as a TriggerTech trigger. MSRP starts at $2,049.99.
...as well as the Evoke.
Another rifle specifically for hunters, the Evoke uses a precision-machined receiver and stainless barrel that is suppressor ready with an included muzzle brake. Starting at $898.99, it’s also the most affordable from Christensen.
Both rifles were initially “built to handle the demands of today’s most advanced cartridges,” so the company is obviously confident they’re ready for the higher-pressure 7mm BC. Christensen’s pair of rifles joins a growing list of other premium 7mm BC players, including Gunwerks, Geiessele, Weatherby, Seekins Precision, Savage, and Proof Research.
Ridgeline FFT Outland Series
Another SHOT Show debut is the Outland Series. Christensen’s Ridgeline FFT represents a premium backcountry hunter’s bolt action, and that premier family gets a meaningful new look as the Outland Series.
The Outland series rifles sport camo finishes that incorporate topo maps of regions that are special to Christensen Arms.
The four new colorways with unique camouflage looks are inspired by some of the most iconic and diverse landscapes in the wild. Each of the four patterns draws from a topographic map from regions of the country that hold special meaning for the company. Contour lines are removed, colors enhanced, and the new fearsome foursome of color combinations represents key places including Utah, where the company calls home; Alaska, a desired hunting destination; Texas, and New Mexico, each with unique ties to the company and its manufacturing process.
Final Thoughts
The Christensen Arms brand has been rejuvenated in recent years with multiple new product launches and a re-dedication to hardcore hunters. All the popular rifle families continue into 2025, including last year’s precision rimfire offerings as well as the modular chassis-driven Modern Precision Rifle centerfires, each with impressive accuracy guarantees.
