Henry Repeating Arms is ringing in the new year with a limited, museum-worthy run of 250 Spirit of 1776 Semiquincentennial Edition lever-action rifles in .44-40 WCF to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

It's a fitting move, especially for those looking to expand their vocabulary in 2026 to include words like semiquincentennial (250th anniversary). Henry crafted these heirloom-quality rifles to commemorate the nation’s 250th birthday, and it is offering them exclusively as factory-direct products reserved for collectors.

The guns are built on the original 1860 patent from Benjamin Tyler Henry. Each lever rifle is a “line-for-line reproduction” of the original design with a 13-round capacity. The only change is the .44 Winchester Center Fire chambering, which makes these collectibles functioning shooters with modern ammo supplies.

They feature polished blued-steel octagonal barrels, a nickel-plated brass receiver, and intricate engraving accented with 24-karat gold highlights. The engravings on the receiver depict the story of America’s independence.

The right side of the receiver hosts dramatic battlefield imagery from the Revolutionary War. This is accompanied by a period-correct musket, the Betsy Ross flag, Independence Hall, and a commanding portrait of a bald eagle. The left side sports an engraving of a fife and drum corps, the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and a depiction of the sword carried by George Washington. (Image: Henry Repeating Arms)

Each rifle also boasts a rosewood buttstock that was hand-selected by Henry Repeating Arms founder and CEO Anthony Imperato. The crescent buttplate is made of nickel-plated brass and includes a period-correct trapdoor.

There are only 250 serial numbers for this collection, which explains the steep MSRP of $4,572.
