Sig Sauer on Thursday announced a new full-sized variant of the P320 in 10mm Auto-- the 15+1 capacity XTen.
Soft-launched at the inaugural Sig Freedom Days event at the Ben Avery Shooting Sports Center north of Phoenix earlier this month, Phil Strader, Sig’s director of firearms product management, gave us the details in the above video.
"This is the first 320 we've offered in this caliber, and we can't be more excited about it," said Strader, who said it was probably the most asked-for new caliber choice. "This is the most powerful 320 that we've ever developed in this (platform), and we couldn't be prouder of it."
Using a completely redesigned grip module based on feedback from the popular XFive series, the new XTen has good lineage.
"We removed the shelf, we improved the beavertail, we improved the undercut and-- what's more impressive-- is we kept the circumference of the grip almost the same as the 320 XFive," said Strader. All this with a 15+1 flush-fit magazine capacity.
The Sig Sauer XTen 10mm variant of the P320 family comes standard with a flat-faced trigger that we found breaks crisply at 4 pounds after just under a half-inch of travel at the tip of the bow, with a correspondingly short reset.
We're currently stretching the legs on an XTen Sig sent us to review, and we'll get back to you with what we find. As a bit of a tease, we have 150 rounds through it so far and are catching feelings.
Sorry, no MSRP or MAP at this time, but to paint a picture of the neighborhood, the 9mm XFive runs around $1K depending on variant.
