The Package

The P365 XL Spectre is a SIG Sauer Custom Works handgun that is slightly larger than the original P365. The XL Spectre features a longer slide with lightening cuts, front serrations, and a 3.7-inch barrel. It has a unique gray grip with custom stippling and takes flush-fit 12-round magazines.

Our package includes an installed Holosun HS407K X2 red dot and a Streamlight TLR7-X weapon light. The optic makes it easier and quicker to acquire and engage your target, while the light helps you identify the target in low-light situations.

This package also includes two 12-round magazines, along with two 17-round magazines that have grip extensions. These mags increase the capacity of this concealable handgun to well past what is typical in its size class.

On the Range

Since reviewing the SIG Sauer P365 AXG Legion, I have become a big fan of the platform. Shooting this XL Spectre just reinforced my opinion.

There is a fine line between concealability and function, and many compact handguns are too small to get a proper grip and control. That is not the case with the XL Spectre. Even the 12-round flush-fit magazines offer enough grip space to get a good purchase. The stippling on the frame is the perfect formula – aggressive but not abrasive.

For a small, compact handgun, the XL Spectre is easy to shoot and control. The optic makes it easy to see the target while observing the hits in real time. This makes follow-up shots much faster.

While I didn’t get to shoot in low-light conditions, I am a huge believer in the importance of weapon lights. It’s important to see what you plan to engage. The TLR7-X is impressive for its size, offering a very bright light in a small package.

There is nothing better than shooting steel plates with a handgun, especially with a red dot. The instant gratification of the "ping" while watching the plate swing through the optic builds confidence. This is a great handgun that can be easily concealed and easily mastered.
