The Beretta Silver Pigeon Trap is a purpose-built, over-and-under shotgun designed for clay target shooting. It typically features back-bored Steelium barrels with long forcing cones, a raised Monte Carlo stock, an adjustable B-Fast comb for point-of-impact fine-tuning, and weighs around 8 lbs 8 oz to absorb recoil.
Specific configurations—such as the Silver Pigeon I, III, and Trap Combo models—include several distinct traits:
Barrels: Available in 30" or 32" over-and-under lengths, as well as 34" Unsingle models. They utilize Optimachoke HP tubes or fixed chokes (e.g., Improved Modified and Full) for tight, consistent patterns at distance.
Action & Receiver: Built on Beretta's legendary, low-profile 680-series action. They feature elegant floral laser-engraving, polished stainless-steel triggers, and a dual conical locking lug system designed for high-volume shooting and incredible longevity.Stock & Ergonomics: Crafted from oil-finished, Grade 2 or 3 walnut. The Trap-specific geometry incorporates the Monte Carlo drop and palm swells for right-handed shooters to promote a heads-up, consistent gun mount. The B-Fast adjustable comb allows the shooter to tweak the cast and drop easily.
Weight & Recoil: The heavier weight and Beretta Microcore recoil pad mitigate the kick of 12-gauge target loads, allowing for comfortable all-day shooting at the range.
