The Carl Gustaf M96 is a Swedish Mauser originally designed in 1896. It was very closely based on the 1893 German Mausers but chambered in the 6.5X55 (6.5 Swede) cartridge. Swedish Mausers are considered by many to be the nicest surplus rifles on the market. High-grade tool steel was used throughout the entirety of production, and they were all proof-tested for quality and accuracy before leaving the factory.
