The Official Police is a double-action, 6-shot revolver made by Colt and crafted on a medium-sized frame. It was initially introduced in 1908 as the Army Special and, in a bid to better market to law enforcement, was renamed Official Police in 1927. Production continued through the 1960s and it proved to be one of the best-selling police revolvers. This particular example is an Official Police MKIII, chambered in .38 Special, with a 6” barrel, and a black finish.
