This 1917 Artillery Luger, serial number 9182F, was manufactured by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) and represents a classic wartime production pistol. Adding significantly to its collector appeal, it includes a detachable wooden buttstock, one of the defining accessories associated with the Artillery Luger configuration.

With its historical significance, military heritage, and included accessories, this DWM 1917 Artillery Luger is an outstanding example of one of the most iconic pistols of the First World War.

A staple in German firearms history and handgun history the world over, the Luger P08 was one of the first dependable semi-automatic handguns ever produced. It cycled using the complex but effective toggle lock action and was an advancement over the earlier 1893 Borchardt C-93. This specific Luger was manufactured by DWM.
