The pistol utilizes H&K's proprietary O-ring barrel system for precise barrel-to-slide lockup, giving the pistol greater accuracy and is made using the company's cold-hammer forging process for superior performance and longevity. The pistol sports interchangeable backstraps along with ambidextrous controls and a standard 1913 Picatinny rail for mounting lights and laser aiming devices.

The V1 model sports a single/double action trigger with a dual-action safety/decocking lever on the left side of the pistol. This model features an all-black finish and includes two 10-round magazines.
