Action & Trigger: Features a short recoil, locked-breech mechanism with a traditional Double Action/Single Action (DA/SA) trigger pull.
Features a lightweight alloy frame paired with a folded, stamped-steel slide.
Decocker: Equipped with a frame-mounted decocking lever on the left side to safely lower the hammer without engaging a manual safety.
Safety Mechanisms: Built-in automatic firing pin safety and an independent hammer intercept notch (safety).
Distinct Police FeaturesDeformation Spur: The distinctive, hooked hammer includes a "deformation spur" designed to bend or snap off if the gun is dropped on its hammer, notifying armorers of required repairs.
Police Trigger Weight: Originally constrained by rigid West German police standards, early models have a heavier double-action pull (around 10-12 lbs) which served as a safety mechanism against inadvertent discharges.
Feed Ramp Variations: Early production models featured strict feed ramps that occasionally snagged modern hollow-point rounds, while post-1989 models were updated with a recessed cut to improve feeding reliability
