The Simson & Company 317J is a classic German bolt-action rimfire rifle produced by Simson & Co. of Suhl, one of Germany's most respected firearms manufacturers. This example is in very good condition and retains its matching-numbered bolt, enhancing its originality and collector appeal. The bore is in excellent condition, while the wood remains very attractive with only light, scattered dings and nicks from careful handling over the years. The barrel retains a pleasing appearance with only slight scratches in the bluing. Of particular interest, the rifle appears to have been exported to England, as evidenced by British proof marks present on both the receiver and barrel. Combining German craftsmanship, matching components, and documented export history, this Simson 317J is an outstanding example of a classic European rimfire rifle.
