The Star BM is a compact semi-automatic pistol manufactured by the now-defunct Spanish company Star Bonifacio Echeverria, S.A., between the early 1970s and early 1990s. Chambered in 9mm Parabellum (9x19mm), the Star BM was designed as a military and police sidearm and was widely adopted by Spanish law enforcement and military units. Its design closely resembles the iconic Colt 1911, with similar aesthetics and controls, though it operates using a single-action mechanism and does not feature a grip safety.
Built with an all-steel construction, the Star BM weighs approximately 34 ounces unloaded, providing a solid, durable feel and excellent recoil control for a compact pistol. It features a 3.77-inch barrel and utilizes an 8-round single-stack magazine, making it slim and easy to carry, particularly for concealed use.
