Safariland and Bianchi are the latest gear makers to join the Glock Gen 5 revolution, introducing new holster fits for duty, tactical and concealed carry use alongside the new Glock pistols.
Working closely with Glock, the Safariland and Bianchi created a full complement of holsters from thermal formed holsters to the 7TS collection and GLS Pro-Fit series to premium grade leather rigs that fit the Gen 5 pistols’ design. With the new generation, Glock added an ambidextrous slide stop which alters the fit of holsters designed for the previous, fourth generation.
“We’re pleased to quickly release several new holster fits for the new Glock Gen5,” said James Dawson, category director for Duty Gear, said in a press release. “Finding an available holster when purchasing a new gun is sometimes difficult for consumers and we worked closely with Glock to make sure our holsters were ready when the new Gen5 pistols were released.”
Among the new fits is Safariland’s 7TS and GLS Pro-Fit holsters. The 7TS boasts Safariland’s proprietary SafariSeven material and is available in open-top ALS retention for the 7390, SLS retention for the 7280 and ALS/SLS for the 7360 model. Tactical versions are also available in any combination with or without light. The GLS Pro-Fit is an open-top concealment holster with an ergonomically placed retention lever on the top of the rig.
Rounding out the new offerings is a slew of leather holster courtesy of Bianchi. The rigs boast premium-full grain leather and AccuMold 1000-denier ballistic weave fabric. Traditional leather holsters include open-top and thumb-snap belt models, a paddle model and the compact Foldaway holster. Additionally, Bianchi serves up all-weather ballistic weave models in the Model 4584 Evader with FingerLok retention, the AccuMold 7001 Thumbsnap and the AccuMold 7120 Defender duty holster.
Safariland says more Gen 5 holster options are on the way with new models expected to drop in October.
