Springfield Armory debuts XD(M) OSP with both threaded, standard barrels (VIDEO)

Springfield’s latest optics-ready XD(M) Optical Sight Pistol model includes two barrels, a factory milled slide and co-witness suppressor-height iron sights.

The standard package XD(M) OSP direct from Springer, announced Friday, includes both a 5.3-inch 5x28TPI threaded barrel with thread protector and a flush 4.5-inch standard barrel.

Springer says the non-threaded barrel offers immediate options for those who like to swap between using a suppressor or going without, or for those visiting restricted states where threaded barrels aren’t kosher due to local regs. Plus, explains Steve Kramer with SA, it keeps the user from having to shop around for questionable fits.

“You have the versatility of both the threaded and non-threaded barrel without the hassle of going aftermarket which tends to produce complications in fit,” said Kramer. “Because our barrels are factory crafted, there is no risk of an ill-fitting barrel and we are able to provide the kit at a lower cost to our customers.”

Besides the barrel package and two 19-round magazines, the 9mm XD(M) OPS has a factory-milled slide and included mounting plates for the Vortex Venom, Burris FastFire 2 & 3, Leupold DeltaPoint & DeltaPoint Pro, JPoint Sights, and Trijicon RMR.

MSRP is $710, or, with an optional Venom thrown in, $958.
