Last month, Sig Sauer hosted a unique and exciting Freedom Days experience – an event open to the public, not restricted to industry insiders – and it was sweet.

Held at the desert wonderland that is the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, Arizona, those who paid an admission price – that when you think about it, barely covered the ammo they were slated to shoot – were able to take nearly 50 different Sig firearms for a spin.

Notably, there were some brand new guns on hand that hadn't even been released-- such as the Sig CROSS PRS rifle and XTen pistol – which were available to shoot right alongside everything else.

Besides that, there were interesting live demonstrations by Team SIG's professional shooters to include Max Michel, Lena Miculek, and Daniel Horner while the great Jerry Miculek also stopped by to wow the crowd.

For those wanting to learn a thing or three about the practical mechanics of shooting and carrying, there were hourly classes put on by folks like USCCA.

And for many, the most popular draw to the event was the chance to get a close look – and for some even some trigger time – on the guns behind Sig Sauer's Next Generation Squad Weapon System (NGSW) that was recently selected by the U.S. Army to replace the M4 carbine and M249 machine gun.

Plus, there were K9s, Navy SEAL and best-selling author Jack Carr (who is one heck of a nice guy in person), Mossberg shotguns, Xpedition Archery crossbows, and all sorts of other stuff I'm probably forgetting.

In all, Sig had almost 5,000 attendees come by to get a dose of Freedom and enjoy some Liberty with like-minded people.

The good news is that they are planning to take the event to other spots in the country with the next held Oct 14-15, 2022, at the Sig Sauer Academy in Epping, New Hampshire. Registration will open on June 23.
