Savage Arms was on hand at the recent NRA Annual Meeting in Atlanta to tell us about the latest additions to its AccuCan suppressor and Stance handgun lineups.

AC30 B.O.B.

Savage debuted its AccuCan line of lightweight hunting suppressors at SHOT Show last year in three sizes, from the rimfire AC22 to the .338 Lapua Magnum-rated AC338. The company has since added the .350 Legend-focused AC350, and its newest can came just in time for NRAAM 2025.

The AC30 B.O.B. is Savage’s first foray into back-over-barrel suppressors. Like the rest of the line, it’s constructed of aluminum and titanium and features built-in self-cleaning carbon cutters and hard coat anodizing. It weighs 13.7 ounces and has a 2-inch diameter. The can is 8 inches long, but since it fits like a sleeve over the muzzle, it only adds 4 inches of length to the rifle.

“It still has great sound reduction even with that reduced length added to the barrel,” Savage rep Brett McKenna said.

Sound reduction is advertised at 133 decibels with .308 Win from a 20-inch barrel. It’s rated for .30-caliber cartridges up to .300 Win Mag with a controlled rate of fire – meaning one round every second for up to 20 rounds. Then it needs to cool to the ambient temperature, according to manufacturer guidelines.

MSRP is $999, and the cans are available now.

Stance XR

The Stance XR is an optics-ready micro-compact 9mm with fully ambidextrous controls.

Released in 2022, the Stance line marked Savage’s reentry to the semi-auto handgun market 100 years after it ceased production of its Savage Automatic (Model 1917). More recently, Savage has updated the Stance with higher-capacity mag options. Instead of the original 7+1 or 8+1 mags, there are now 10+1 flush-fit and 13+1 extended versions.

The XR packs more rounds than the original Stance, moving up from 7+1 or 8+1 to a flush-fit 10-round mag or an extended 13-rounder.

It’s a “very compact gun to hold 13 rounds, and it didn’t really change the overall size at all,” McKenna noted.

The Stance XR also features a quick-release optics plate and a front Picatinny rail for adding a light or laser. Controls, including the mag release, are ambidextrous. The pistol is offered in 15 variants across three colorways – Black, Flat Dark Earth, and Gray – with options including a manual safety, Crimson Trace micro red dot, and night sights.
