What a year 2021 was for shotguns. I’ve taken a look at all the new models, and here they are listed alphabetically. Whether you’re looking for a 12 gauge for home defense, an upgrade to your clays gun, or searching for a new bird gun to use in the field, this lineup has something for everyone and at great price points. 

Armscor/Rock Island Armory VR82: This AR-style shotgun was introduced in a new 20-gauge model this year. It’s constructed with an aluminum receiver and features ambidextrous controls. It’s shorter and more maneuverable than a traditionally designed shotgun and has a five-shell magazine.

Benelli Ethos SuperSport: New to their Ethos lineup, the SuperSport uses a lightweight, weather-resistant finish. It features Benelli’s inertia-driven system for minimal recoil and extended Crio chokes. It’s available in 12, 20, and 28 gauge.

Benelli Super Black Eagle 3: Expanding their lines, Benelli has added the Super Black Eagle 3 this year. Available in both 12 and 20 gauge, its designed to appeal to the waterfowl market. The SBE3 models are available with several finishes, including black synthetic, Realtree Max-5, Gore Optifade Timer, and Mossy Oak Bottomland. 

Beretta 1301 Enhanced Tactical Shotgun: The newest version of the popular Model 1301 is now standard with a 7+1 capacity of 12 gauge. It utilizes the lines' ultrafast Blink gas-operating system, which allows for 36-percent faster cycling than the competition according to Beretta. It offers enlarged controls, a 3-inch chamber, top Picatinny rail, and other great options you’d expect from Beretta. 

Beretta A300 Ultima Series: Beretta billed the new A300 Ultima series as built tough enough to withstand adverse conditions in the field and perform when you need it most. The Ultimas feature enlarged controls, improved receiver, and are available in 12- and 20-gauge variations. You can also choose either black, Realtree Max-5, or a Mossy Oak Bottomland finish.

Browning Maxus II: These new shotguns are built with more sleek lines than their predecessor. An Inflex recoil pad and SoftFlex cheek pad aid in reducing recoil. The Maxus II has a total of 17 models with a multitude of finishes, making sure there’s one perfect for your needs. 

Franchi Instinct LX Series: Franchi has added to their LX Series with the following models: LX 28 GA and SLX 28 GA. The LX is designed for upland game hunters. It boasts Italian craftsmanship and American styling. The SLX is an heirloom-quality deluxe shotgun, which is finely crafted using an engraved aluminum-alloy receiver and a furniture-quality stock. 

Franchi Affinity: Franchi’s newest turkey gun comes as a 3.5-inch 12-gauge and a 3-inch 20-gauge model. They feature a Mossy Oak Bottomland pattern and extended turkey and turkey XF chokes.

Henry H015T-12 Single Shot: Possibly the most perfect turkey gun to date, it’s also Henry’s first dedicated turkey gun. It features a Mossy Oak camouflaged American walnut stock, 3.5-inch chamber, and a single-shot, 24-inch round barrel.

Mossberg 590S Series: New from Mossberg is a 12 gauge that runs mini shells without having to modify the shotgun. You can shoot 1.75-inch minis, 2.75-inch standard, or 3-inch magnum shells through its redesigned anti-jamb elevator. It also features an energy-absorbing bumper to keep your shoulder happy after repeated use. 

Mossberg 940 Pro Autoloading Series: Expanding their line of 940 Pro autoloading shotguns, Mossberg released the Field, Snow Goose, and Waterfowl models. The Pro Snow Goose and Pro Waterfowl models feature Cerakote metal surfaces. The Pro Field features a black synthetic stock and accents. They’re chambered in 12 gauge. 

Mossberg Silver Reserve Field Series: An affordable alternative perfect for new shooters looking to get into bird hunting and/or sporting clays, this series is available in 12, 20, 28 gauge and .410 bore. There’s also an available youth model. 

Savage Renegauge Competition: Like to go fast and shoot a lot? This was built for you! The Renegauge extended magazine tube holds nine shells of 12 gauge. The carbon-steel barrel lightens this shotgun up, and it’s standard with oversize controls and Savage’s patented DRIV gas system.

Stoeger M3500 Snow Goose: An update to Stoegers M3500 Waterfowl Special shotgun, the Snow Goose features an extended magazine tube and oversized bolt handle and bolt release. It’s coated in a distressed white Cerakote finish and has a huge 10+1 capacity.

Stoeger Synthetic Condor: This versatile shotgun is perfect whether you’re shooting clays or hunting. It’s a synthetic over-under that accommodates 2.75-inch and 3-inch shells and is budget friendly. 

Syren Julia: Geared to the women’s sporting market, the Julia comes with six Maxis competition chokes and a DTS trigger system that is adjustable for length of pull. The furniture is crafted from Turkish walnut to finish off this beautiful over/under shotgun. 

TriStar Arms Bristol Double-Barrel Series: Chambered in 16 gauge, the new Bristol Series from TriStar offers five Beretta-patterned chokes (skeet, improved cylinder, modified, improved modified, and full), making it a perfect all-around shotgun. They feature a single-selective trigger system, which you move to the left or right to determine the barrel that fires first.
