Offered for sale is a Chinese K98-pattern bolt-action rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser. These rifles were produced in China using the German Karabiner 98k design and have become increasingly collectible due to their limited importation and unique Cold War history.
The receiver is clearly marked and bears the Chinese arsenal crest. Visible serial numbers 12372 are matching on the receiver and barrel shank. The rifle retains its original military configuration with hardwood stock, hooded front sight, tangent rear sight, and military sling hardware.
This example shows honest military service wear throughout. The stock has numerous dents, dings, scratches, and finish wear consistent with long-term field use. Metal surfaces retain a gray patina with scattered finish loss, areas of light oxidation, and isolated pitting, most notably around the rear sight base and receiver bridge. The bolt appears to function normally, though the bore has not been evaluated for this listing.
An increasingly difficult rifle to find, this Chinese K98 is an excellent opportunity for military surplus collectors looking to add an uncommon Mauser variant to their collection.
