The D’Armes de Saint-Étienne Buffalo Cadet Rifle is a French-made single-shot .22 caliber training rifle, designed for youth and cadet marksmanship instruction. Known for its simple, robust construction and straightforward operation, it reflects the practical approach of Saint-Étienne firearms production. Its compact profile and classic styling make it both a functional trainer and an interesting example of early European rimfire design.
This example shows wear and multiple condition issues, including pitting on the bolt, a stock that appears to have been sporterized, and multiple fine cracks behind the receiver. Additionally, a rear sight screw is broken. Despite these noted flaws, it retains its historical character and may appeal as a project piece or representative example for collectors of vintage training rifles.
