MARLIN 45

Product Information & Specs

Seller Description For This Firearm

The Marlin Model 45 (also known as the Marlin Camp Carbine or Camp 45) is a semi-automatic pistol-caliber carbine chambered in .45 ACP.
Overview and History
Marlin Firearms produced it from 1985/1986 to 1999 as part of the "Camp Carbine" line (alongside the similar 9mm Model 9). It was designed as a handy, utility firearm for use around hunting camps—for plinking, foraging, or camp defense—sharing ammunition with common handguns like the Colt 1911. It was ahead of its time as a pistol-caliber carbine (PCC) before they became more popular in recent decades. Production ended in 1999, and these are now discontinued collector or used-market firearms.

Design and Performance
The Marlin 45 is simple, reliable, and straightforward to operate and maintain. Its blowback action handles a wide range of .45 ACP loads well. The longer barrel (compared to a handgun) provides a velocity boost, better accuracy, and milder recoil than shooting .45 from a pistol, making it fun for range plinking and effective for close-to-medium range use (woods, home defense, or camp scenarios).
It pairs nicely with 1911 pistols due to shared magazines and ammo. Shooters often praise its ergonomics, solid build quality, and "woods gun" practicality, though some note the trigger is functional but not match-grade (common upgrades exist). Like many PCCs, it's not a long-range rifle but excels in maneuverability.
