Lightweight and easy to handle the Ruger American Compact a suitable semi-automatic handgun for self-defense and concealed carry. The stainless steel slide with a black nitride finish ensures durability while the trigger has a short takeup with positive reset and the glass-filled nylon grip assists with reduced felt recoil. Other favored features are ambidextrous controls automatic sear block system and built-in trigger safeties tool-free disassembly and reassembly for easy maintenance a Picatinny rail and a visual inspection port to see whether a round is in the chamber. The American Compact is available in both 9mm and 45 ACP.
