Weatherby Vanguard – 308 Win – Includes Bushnell 4-12x Scope – 24” Fluted Threaded Barrel
Weatherby reports that this Vanguard (serial #: VB220037) was manufactured in August, 2019 and was part of an SMU. In Weatherby terms, SMU refers to a Special Make up Unit. SMU firearms are typically a limited edition for a specific distributor or retailer and are not found in the standard catalog. They were not able to tell us who the exclusive distributor or retailer was for this rifle.
Our rifle features a 24 inch fluted, threaded barrel with thread protector. There is a hinged floorplate and the internal magazine holds 5 rounds. Weatherby Vanguard rifles have a sub-MOA guarantee.
The trigger is a match grade adjustable trigger that, as currently setup, is very light, crisp and has a great feel. A 3 position safety sits behind the bolt handle.
The green/black laminate stock is likely part of the Special Make up Unit package. You’ll find front and rear sling swivels, along with a generous Pachmayr decelerator pad at the end of the stock.
We don’t believe that this rifle has been fired. If it has, it would only be a few rounds. The bore and barrel are both in Mint condition. The wood and the metal are Near Mint. There is one very small spot of finish loss on the barrel and we’ve included a picture of that spot.
Also included is a Bushnell Banner 4-12 x 40 scope and a set of Talley scope rings. While not a high end scope, shooters have long trusted this model. Ours includes the original box and manual. The scope, cosmetically, is in Near Mint condition. The glass and reticle are both clear and the magnification knobs adjusts as expected. Windage and elevation adjustments are 1 click for one-fourth MOA.
This is a very nice looking rifle in fantastic condition. Being part of the smaller batch SMU that we discussed earlier means that you won’t commonly see this model. If you’re a fan of Weatherby bolt guns and like the distance and power of the 308 Win cartridge, this one is definitely worth a look!
Purchase includes the rifle, Bushnell Banner 4-12x 40 scope (not mounted), one set of Talley scope rings, original box and owner’s manual.
This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this rifle. We have performed our function checks and find no issues to report. As with all pre-owned firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are comfortable with the condition of the rifle.

Shopping at Guns.com gives you the backing of a company that is committed to your satisfaction. And unlike our competitors, it extends beyond the buying process. We get the FFL from your store – others make you find it, copy it, and fax it. We have a generous return policy, and handle everything – you don’t have to go back to the store. And our Rangemasters are here to answer all your questions about our products or process. We're bringing a level of service to the online gun buying experience that is unheard of.
Many online gun sales actually take away from your local community. Instead of buying a gun that’s on your local store’s shelf, most retailers drop ship it from a warehouse in another state. At Guns.com, if an FFL is part of our network, we sell THEIR guns first whenever possible. That way, we’re helping small businesses in your community AND if they have it in stock, you can pick your gun up IMMEDIATELY – it’s how business should be done.
Most everything can be easily bought online these days. But for some reason, buying a gun online can be complicated. Most websites are poorly organized, don’t tell you a lot about what you’re buying, and leave you on your own to figure out what you want. Guns.com is built to be simple – easily organized products, useful descriptions from experts, and support to guide you to the right choice. Spend your time enjoying the gun you want, not getting frustrated with a complex website that makes gun buying hard.
GForce Jawbone 9mm PCC Review: Affordable, Reliable, & Runs on Glock Mags
While quirky, the GForce Jawbone has been very reliable, with the ability to run various aftermarket Glock magazines without issue over 800 rounds of testing. The ambidextrous controls are a plus, but I wish some were a bit less easy to bump.
