For sale is a Winchester Model 70 chambered in the legendary .220 Swift, manufactured in 1940. Produced during the early years of Model 70 production, this Pre-64 rifle represents one of the most sought-after eras of Winchester craftsmanship. Often referred to as the "Rifleman's Rifle," the early Model 70 is prized for its controlled-round-feed action, forged steel construction, and exceptional fit and finish.

Chambered in .220 Swift, one of the fastest commercial rifle cartridges ever developed, this rifle is ideal for varmint hunting and precision target shooting. Early-production Model 70s in .220 Swift are highly desirable among collectors, particularly when they retain their original finish, stock, and factory configuration.
