- Serial number indicates this gun was manufactured in 1887
- Third Model configuration with an integrated dust cover rail
- Chambered in 38 W.C.F. (AKA .38-40 Win.)
- This gun is in good condition with brown/gray patina which indicates natural aging over it's 139 years
- Rifle has an authentic uncleaned metal finish
- No active pitting or red rust - this finish is considered "honest wear"
- 24" octagon barrel
- Full-length magazine tube running underneath the barrel holds 15 rounds
- Gun steel front sight with adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight
- Hand Oiled walnut stock and forend with original factory finish
- Wood appearance is dark brown, smooth finish with no flaking - only a couple light impression marks
- Wooden forend has a crack on the left side - very common due to wood shrinkage and handling.
- Bore is clean and rifling very prominent with no rust or pitting
- All components are original
