Ohio Ordnance Works, makers of the semi-auto M1918A3 BAR, have a new item ready for the public: the "no stamps required" M2 SLR .50 cal.
As previously reported by Guns.com, OOW has been teasing the NFA-compliant version of the famed "Ma Deuce" for a minute, and the company on Wednesday took the plunge and released the details on the new gun.
"At Ohio Ordnance we love our history! Even more, keeping it alive for people to enjoy," said the company on social media, announcing the M2 Self Loading Rifle. "100 years in existence and still one of the best guns around, and will still dominate for decades to come. What better way to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor than to release our version of the gun that helped bring home the second 'W' in World War II."
OOW says there are no shipments of the SLR to California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, or Washington D.C., due to local restrictions on .50 cals.
If you want to roll smaller when it comes to heavy semi-auto rifles based on iconic machine guns, there are always the FN M249S, Vepr RPKs, and, of course, the M1918A3.
