The North Carolina compact gun experts at Angstadt Arms on Monday announced they intend to play well with others and have a new and innovative two-part AR9 lower receiver inbound for 2024.

In a nutshell, the planned AXL-9 allows the user to swap magazine wells to accept various magazines (Glock 9mm, SIG P320, CZ Scorpion, etc.) and even calibers (9mm, .40S&W, .45 ACP, and 10mm). The rear – which is the serialized portion – is 7075-T6 aluminum and is compatible with all mil-spec and AR9 components.

The AXL-9 is an AR9 lower that can be best described as "magazine fluid" and will allow users to change out mag wells across something like eight popular types, with more coming. (Photo: Angstadt)

In addition to the above, Rich Angstadt tells Guns.com the magazine wells to be offered for the AXL-9 will include options for fans of Springfield Armory, Ruger, CZ, HK MP5 and Colt SMG mags. Speaking further to accommodations, it will support both straight blowback and roller-delayed AR9 systems.

We're looking forward to laying hands on this one at SHOT Show 2024.
