This U.S. Model of 1917 Enfield, manufactured by the famous Eddystone Arsenal in late 1918, represents a standout piece of American military history that saw extensive operational service. As the primary battle rifle issued to the American Expeditionary Forces in World War I, the M1917 armed nearly 75% of "Doughboys" overseas and went on to serve in vital secondary and reserve roles through World War II. This particular firearm features its correct, original factory barrel stamped "E" with the Ordnance flaming bomb logo and a matching May 1918 production date. Its historical journey is further highlighted by a distinct "RA" Raritan Arsenal rebuild stamp, documenting its military inspections for mid-century service. Presented in good overall condition, the walnut stock retains clear military markings and an engraved buttstock unit number alongside a clean, dark military finish. Complete with a butter-smooth cock-on-closing action and classic twin-eared aperture sights, this Eddystone offers an outstanding blend of historical significance, tight lockup, and timeless shooting quality.
